Welcome to the NWOUG online Journal.  The journal is a place where our community can share ideas that improved their lives, or enlighten others to challenges and potential solutions.  Journal articles may be technical, functional, or an overview of complex problems and creative solutions, and are written by both user and vendor members. 

NWOUG strives to produce a quarterly journal; however this is completely dependent on the number of articles that we receive.  We are always looking for contributions, so check Journal Submissions for information on article requirements.

Journal Submissions

NWOUG is ALWAYS accepting journal articles.  Please e-mail your submission to journal@nwoug.org.

Deadlines

We accept journal submissions from any of our members, user or vendor, as well as from non-members.  Non-members that submit journal articles will be provided with a complimentary copy of the journal that they can keep and share.  The greatest challenge is gathering enough articles to routinely produce a journal, so please take the time to share your knowledge and expertise!

Format

Journals are created using MS Word, and all articles and images must be submitted in common formats that can be easily converted.  PDF documents are not an acceptable format. 

Articles will be converted into a two column layout.  Images may be moved to accommodate document flow, so you must include clear labels and appropriate references to the image number in the text.  Full page images are an exception and will be considered on an exception basis.

As an editor, I will strive to ensure that your original content remains true to its original intent.  Our goal will be to communicate required changes to you in a timely manner, in order to generate the journal on schedule.  Please keep in mind that we are an all volunteer board, so these activities happen in our spare time.

Pricing

Journal advertisements are available, below is the pricing for each journal.  We are not currently offering a full year pricing agreement, since our distribution is based on whether there are enough articles to generate a new journal.  Contact our vendor liaison, Padma Ayala, at vendors@nwoug.org, to coordinate advertisement space in the journal.

Formats

Advertisements must be submitted in a JPG format.  Keep in mind that the images you submit may be to be shrunk to fit into the spaces on the document, and should be of sufficient quality to allow that to happen while maintaining integrity.
